Not questioning the story....
or trying to be morbid....But how the HELL do you do that with a pocket knife?!!!
I did hear about a fellow who long ago (old west) amputated his own leg below the knee with a bowie knife after it got infected beyond hope, so guess it isnt without prescedent- but how is it possible to do without bleeding to death...? I mean, people just slit their wrists and bleed to death!
