saturn spokes in science fiction
I gazed down at our new objective, and the myriad rings of Saturn. At our current distance, the brilliant rings appeared to be solid disks of ice, which of course they were not. Made up of trillions of individual bits of H2O (water), CO2 (carbon), CH4 (methane), and CH3OOH (methylperoxyde) ice, ranging from 75 meters across, all the way down to cocktail size. Each ring rotated at specific rates as well, often displaying a kind of rippling spoke-effect.

Hey Dan, I'm currently reading your book a second time through. I read this paragraph this morning and laughed, I just had to post it before your spokes post scrolled off the page.
Cheers,
Steve G.
