The Observable Universe
Hello all,
I hope you all looked at Dans' earlier post "First Public Release of Digital Sky Data." There is a portion on the site
called "Scrolling Sky" that is absolutely breathtaking. You can view 2.5 degrees (24,000 pixels) wide, and 120 degrees long areas of sky, or click to narrow down the view and obtain higher resolution shots. This is one of the best space sites I have ever been to; it stirs up emotions of wonder and amazement but best of all gives you an idea of the true size and scope of the observable universe.
