tests

1) I have a project going at the moment where we're studying one particular channel system and documenting the detailed flow patters, especially places where the flow has spilled over the edge of the canyon.

We believe that the morphology of these areas may afford means of discriminating between viscous and fluid water-based models and also between water-based and gas-based flows.

The work will take most of this Calendar year but should be ready for the next LPSC. At this stage I have no results to report.

2) This week's report of a different (non-fractionated) H2O reservoir in a Mars meteorite is a direct prediction of the White Mars model.

3) I have made a number of predictions about the chemical nature of evaporites and duricrust cements on Mars.

4) Many of the searches for liquid water are also tests of the White Mars model - a failure to find liquid water is weak evidence in its favour. A success in finding liquids, but their failing to match the physical properties of water would be strong evidence. We will be discussing a lot of this in August at the GeoMars conference.

5) That will do for now!

What do you want? CO2 geysers caught on film? A Gully flow caught in action (I do have this, actually). Maybe a drilling rig blown out of the ground by the force of a pocket of liquid CO2?

I can offer you samples of trapped liquid CO2, not water, in Mars meteorites...

Do you want blood? Or just a smoking gun? :-)
