Helmholtz contraction...

Hi Board

Well at last the bogey of just Helmholtz contraction powering the Sun [as preached by Creationists for 30 years], or possible implosion due to fusion failure [aka Arthur C. Clarke's "Songs of Distant Earth"], has been laid to rest. The neutrinos are appearing in their requisite numbers and all is well in the Sun's heart. No pesky mini-black holes, no bizarre layer of WIMPs, and no photino-birds...

Now it seems we do understand how the Sun works [to a rough approximation] and can say something meaningful about other stars too. But neutrinos have gotten a bit weirder.
