Anyway:
• Moon Rings and Rainbows
• Weather Lore and Proverbs
• “A ring around the sun or moon, means rain or snow coming soon.” How accurate is this bit of weather lore?
• Cloudy, unsettled weather?
Steady rain, or snow?
A Greek weather sage once said, when two weather signs agree, forecast with hope, when three confirm one another, forecast with confidence.

• One of the most reliable signs of rain is a ring of light around the sun or the moon.
From Dave Thurlow of The Weather Notebook
• Sky
“Sometimes the stars are very still at the approach of calm weather. Our ancestors were quite accurate in weather predicting just by the sight of the sun, moon, stars or ring around the sun or the moon. Ring around the sun or moon generally brings an overcast. If the stars appear to be flickering very rapidly, shine unusually brighter, appear to be closer than usual of have the look of flickering in the wind, it is a sign of an approaching snow storm.”

• There’s quite a bit more out there, too.
I can't remember, Jocelyne. Why is it you stay away so long? This stodgy old site misses you.
