<Why is it necessary to "jazz up" these boards every few weeks? I truly appreciate the effort to keep this BBS running, but do I really need to see my posts in green letters on a star-spangled background? What was wrong with the BBS engine we were using before?

www.server.com produced the engine before, and they had loads of tracking cookies and ads all over the place. sometimes there were popups, and the features we could includ eon the bbs were limited to whatever they allowed.

this is a completely new engine, written by robert to be compatible with a nearly universal wwwboard bbs engine. if you notice it has the email notification feature. . . with this bbs we can do a lot like make an option use that feature without displaying your email, in case this place become really popular and spam spider start targetiing this place. I am writtin an email to robert talking about potential features to make posting even better.. . like perhaps using cookies to let you specify your own style sheet so this place can look liek anything you want.

as for the green text on blakc background, we thought that just made a throwback to the old terminal days, the starfeild was and after thought of roberts that we might do something different with later for funcitonal reasons.

Thanks for the appreciation!
