Re: How to get a cosmos from nothing.
There is a reason for everything, but a purpose to nothing.
Science tries to learn the reasons.
Purposes are fairy tales we tell ourselves because we are afraid of the dark. The universe is indifferent to us. The sooner we understand that, the better.
If you want to make the universe meaningful, go out and do something about it. You have the power. But don't expect it to hold your hand.
"The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent, but if we can come to terms with the indifference, then our existence as a species can have genuine meaning. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light." -- Stanley Kubrick
