Cause we are the boss of them
As humans we do some many things just because we can. And, to me that is good. Usually all sides of the issue are considered regardless of relevance. A current example of this is the ongoing discussion regarding stem-cell research. There seems to be no downsude to this research but some would stop it because they believe the fetal tissue represents life.
