I liked the show, particularly the movie pilot. The premise was some form of fantasy chemical propulsion with a specific impulse far exceeding that of even nuclear rockets. It allowed the construction of a cast-iron spaceship that could just chug along through the atmosphere at Cessna speeds until it got into space, thus avoiding all that nasty accelleration and thermal protection. Boy, do I wish.
