I have to respond to a topic that's being hotly debated over on the "Looney Bin".
The explosion of TWA 800.
Larry J?
You're our resident aviator and
aviation buff.
Isn't it a fact that aviation fuel-tanks do on occasion blow up?
Isn't it a fact that modern jet-fuel
is still a highly-volatile fluid?
[I know the answer to that one; since
I've studied chemistry]
Isn't it a fact that a partially-empty
aviation fuel-tank [on a jetplane]
can generate an air-fuel mixture by sloshing and mingling of air and fuel?
Isn't it a fact that such an air-fuel mixture is explosive, and all you need
is one spark?
Larry? I think you and I can then tell
those conspiratorial buffoons or idle
hands: "Case closed!"
Jacob
