Space/Science

Reposting the topic: Bill Nye, "The Science Guy", can be a benefit in the battle against the LCT's.

LCT's: "Lunar Conspiracy Theorists".

OK! This topic has been posted, with some unfortunate typos, over on that BBS site, but I prefer to repost it here..and with more detail....

Bill Nye's science program on TV
has made him famous, popular, influential...and revealesd him to be
highly capable of delivering and easily showing, demonstrating & explaining "science topics".
His abilities make him more-than-suitable in reaching an audience of millions of young, impressionable minds with the facts
concerning the Apollo lunar missions.
And those millions are the future of the United States and its space program.

As you know, those LCT kooks have promoted the
false idea that the manned lunar landings were "faked' and 'staged',
citing 'evidence' that stars are
not seen in the photos taken by the
astronauts...

(1) Bill Nye should be encouraged
to perform this simple demonstration:
On a clear, moonless night take a polaroid camera to an outdoor baseball
diamond [brightly illuminated by banks
of floodlights] and try to photograph
the stars from that location...You probably know what will happen.
And those floodlights do not match
the glare and intensity of the sun's
unfiltered light striking and reflected off the lunar surface.

Other LCT's cite the fact that the US
flags on the moon "flapped" when they were moved by astronauts.

(2) Bill Nye could perform an experiment, using a small, wire-framed
flag inserted in a plexiglass vacuum chamber...The chamber would have most
of its air pumped out, and a handcrank
connected to the flag inside should be
able to cause "flapping" [the result
of changes in inertia in different
parts of the flag fabric].

There are other simple experiments & demonstrations that Bill
Nye can perform that can persuade millions of his viewers that indeed
US astronauts landed on, walked and drove over the moon.

BUT!...FIRSTLY!...Bill Nye
needs to know how we feel about this.
And he would surely welcome our suggestions.
