Crystal bases RAM would be great for spaceflight too. More impervious to cosmic rays and the non-volitile aspect (retains the info with power off) is great commercially (NVRAM) and for saving watts on a space mission. Real nonotech advances would let engineers grow/produce crystals as needed and where needed on a chip. Love to see that simple thing really happen this decade, which in engineering nanoreality is very, very difficult.
