I don't think so. Look at Bush Jr, Bush Sr, and Ronny Reagan. A very dirty and expensive campaign can fool the public, gild the manure, and have the middle class betray itself.
Romney is another shot, maybe the biggest, in the class warfare conducted by the wealthy against the middle and lower classes. As in any oligarchy, they will get away with it, I'm afraid, because of the desires of many to identify with the upper class.
Unable to acknowledge their working class existences, they hope for money and glory, NASCAR, that gas, ethanol, and rubber wasting extravaganza, is their ideal.
They want F-22s at $200 million each, and to cut Medicare. They want B-1s at $2 billion per, and don't want to pay taxes.
They what higher profits. Nothing wrong with that. And they don't want to share those profits with those that actually made them, the workers. Bad.
Nope, Romney is simply another shaped, manicured, coiffed charge against the average American, and many average American with dreams of glory will support him.
