Barry,
Your first paragraph makes no sense unless you think advance life has been transported to Mars or that microbes have the same type of immune systems as advanced life.
You have also demonstrated both your tendency to misquote people and get their arguments mixed up. Zubrin has not claimed "we have Martian microbes on Earth today and therefore we have all aquired a natural immunity." You have made this false claim for years now. His actual statements have appeared in the media many times and I have personally pointed out this error many times to you. You appear to be either extremely dense, dishonest or both.
Zubrin has always stated first and foremost that life is unlikely to exist on the surface of Mars. He then goes on to state that IF it did exist it would have already been transferred here. The fact that we find no evidence for Martian life but do have evidence that it could have been transported here (IF it existed) supports Zubrin's first position. It does not disprove the second because it is conditional on whether or not life ever existed on Mars.
Total logic/honesty foul ups like this is why no one who makes a living using logic pays you any credence whatsoever. It is also why I encourage all intelligent people tempted by your concerns to interact with you in person on bulletin boards. It usually only takes one thread to convince them you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Your evasiveness back at the previous thread is further reason many think you are either woefully ignorant about real microbiology or dishonest. You always run from a technical debate and try and turn it into one about motives or undermining the credibility of those that disagree with you. Is it really that hard for you to discuss how immune systems work or how diseases evolve? Your whole stance seems to be based on sci-fi thrillers rather than real microbiology.
Regards,
Mark
