Yes the devil is in the details. That's why I characterized the suit MINUS the backpack as 26LBs. There's even room for some improvement there but the weight of N hours O2 cannot be reduced. And that plus heat exchanger stuff is the big mass. I think suit design and the associated problem of long term Mars dust control is an often overlooked R&D cost for Mars missions. But then, we're not going tomorrow.
