Bush has tried to sell the NMD various ways to the rest of the world. Why not make Russia an active participant?

Hear me out. Russia would launch pieces of the NMD more cheaply. Not only does this help economically, but it helps politically. Russia in a sense becomes a junior partner in the NMD, helping assemble it, possibly even contributing.

If not RSA, though, then why not a deal done via MirCorp?

Yes, I realize this is all very naive on my part. Completely out there. So fix what I've suggested. Is there a way to fiddle with this idea so that it could work? Russia lofts some of the NMD into orbit - why not?
