It was my understanding that they still only used an oxygen nitrogen mix on the pad and during launch. After they got into orbit they switched back to pure oxygen. An Oxygen / Nitrogen mix was too heavy and complicated at that time. They didn’t have time to redesign the air systems and still make the deadline.
