Barry, give me my honorary PhD in biology because I have stated precisely the same thing here previously, but without the bash Zubrin spin. Discovery and analysis of Martian microbes (if they exist, which I think they do) will revolutionize biotech. We need a 2nd type of life
to compare and contrast Earth life with to get a real basic understanding about the fundamentals. This would directly benefit everyone living. Everyone. A priceless
benefit, and one reason the President should make Martian life search a national high priority.
The fear is that microbes may have already cross-pollinated via meteorites and the life basics are the same. Then, it's off to Europa and beyond.
Barry, where specificly in the article does the biologist contradict Zubrin, or is this just a polemic?
