I disagree with this quote.
'Eventually, scramjets may revolutionise air travel, allowing passenger aircraft to fly to London from Sydney in just two hours....'
The Concorde has encountered enough troubles merely trying to provide supersonic passenger flights. Are they talking about a suborbital intercontinental shuttle? Then my question is: Doesn't the acceleration from scramjets prohibit passenger flights?
I don't know enough about the subject, but there seems to me to be no way scramjets will become part of passenger air-travel.
