Re: Earth-worlds (faintly) display themselves?

Hello, D.A.!

Earth really looks like a blue marble from out there.
(Photo taken from Voyager 1, recorded Sept. 18, 1977, 7.25 million miles from Earth)

Occultation is a great way to find/detect planets. According toSky & Telescope, there's quite a few occultations seen from Earth during this month.

I guess I'm impatient, but it's going to be a while before TPF is launched. Star Light, SIRTF and SIM seem to be testbeds for TPF's technology. SIM is intriguing. *g*

THEMIS, aboard the Mars Odessey, took a nice, natural light photo of Earth's crescent/atmosphere. Apparently, Earth's auroras can be just as spectacular seen from space.

Thanks, D.A.

Marcia
