Gary A or Keith C: Do You Know Lowther?

I'm curious if any credence should be given to Lowther's comments. I'm sure all three of us would agree some of the personal characterizations are true, but the engineering comments seem out of characteristic to me for the level of detail in the Mars Direct plan. Either of you know who Lowther is or how much of the plan was David Baker's rather than Zubrin's?
