Today, we had our first Belgian star party, among only amateur astronomers, but we never saw stars; however, we met many friends and new comrades who share the passion. Jean Bourgeois, for instance, is a guy who filmed ISS crossing the sun (and will do much better with 1,000 pics per second, that way showing the ISS shape, while it crosses the Sun. Another thing he wants to do is to film ISS while it crosses the shadow side of the Moon (enabling us to see it). He has spent his time looking for double stars (through moon occultations: if there is a progressive shift or a gradual shift in magitude, it can show the star has a companion). That's what happened during the Titania event, occulting a star: that star is double.
I also learned CCD cameras are becoming more and more affordable.
