This is beautiful, like O'Neill's large colonies, but at the time O'Neill's large, cylindrical designs came out I pointed out that simply tunneling out an asteroid on multiple levels, balancing and spinning it, would be a lot easier (if much less elegant).
Similarly, I don't think this concept will be as practical as large, sealed underground tunnels. The glass ceiling would be a particularly difficult design.
