Re: Reasons to go to space
It is difficult to speculate on our future in space under the condition of the world today but I suppose that like all things, this too shall pass.
The only thing that keeps man out of space is the lack of cheap access. Many share your view but many do not. When space is available there will be thousands of people that will be willing to accept the rigors and even death for the opportunity to explore and see things first hand.
The cyborgs, AI and genetically enhanced will likely follow as a result of their experience but I believe that these beings will retain human qualities.
