Re: Hyperspace series on TV again Saturday.

Hi, Mark.

Yes, we finally saw the program in its entirety last night. All three parts expressed good scientific theories and facts, but... I still wanted to see a good depiction of how our moon was formed. They did not show that. They did depict the crash of the 'planet sized meteor' pretty well, however.

During the technology section the Universe Star Map idea was featured, a favorite of mine and I'm glad they're working on it (good going Aussies). DSI('s ION drives... they show some promise) had a good spot along with the solar sails.

In the last Survival piece, I appreciated all the ideas presented especially the part where humans left our dying planet in droves or series of ships beyond our solar system prior to our sun's demise. *g* Somehow, I didn't find comfort in the idea by the sci-fi writer (his name escapes me now) of us changing into fish-like beings so that we could live a few additional years in the oceans of Jupiter's moon, Europa---speculated to become a water world by then. How would we be able to create technology to leave that water world using fins when that world perishes? *g*

Anyways, I hope young viewers saw it and it helped to spark an interest in Astronomy.

Right after that program ended we clicked over to ABC and just had to see Apollo 13 again.

Thanks for the reminder, Mark!

Marcia
