Asteroid hunters scraping to get the job done.
This Space.Com article implies that asteroid hunting is not getting the funding that it needs to do the job right. From past numbers I have seen, very little (relatively) NASA money would be required to do this job right, and considering the consequences of messing it up, this should be a high priority. As a defense against possible destruction from space, this would be a very legitimate use of government funding.
