Similar to the fav MIT team, the NASA team finished second this season. It was a very close match however.
the object was to 'knock down a series of walls first'.. they went with a simple ball and chain, on the back of a truck while the other gusy went with a hydraulic system. However, both teams eventually wound up just ramming their trucks into the walls as the nasa teams wench did't work, and doing it by hand was not strong enough, while their competiors hydralic were too slow. It just so turned out that the Miami Gearheads had a better vehicle for ramming. . . .
This comes after blowing away their first challengers with half the time of their competiros in a white water jetboat race, and narrowly winning in a remote controlled submersible obstacle coarse race.
IMHO the NASA team was not as hot as I expected. Throughout this season they were consistently running behind schedule, though this is not entirely out of hte ordinary for this game (or NASA). Furthermore (and it prompted several snickers from the Drit hosts) one of them had to ask the other for the converstion factor of inches to centimeters ;-) Perhaps this is just because I am comparing them to the MIT geeks from the first season who were spectacular. The comparison aside the NASA team did a great job.
