I saw a show on tv about using nukes for excavation of canals and other sorts of earth-moving projects. They showed a test of a xx-megatonne excavation device and the dust-cloud it created. They then superimposed a picture of a city at its base to show the relative size of the cloud. It reminds me of the dust cloud created by the collapse of the WTC.
