There are many sites in his website that have nothing to do with noetic science and everything with his moonflight. Why not take an interest in them, instead?
Mitchell was a very good astronaut and was one of the earliest chosen for a flight in his selection.
What he did later was entirely up to him.
Besides, he seems fascinated by consciousness. Why not, after all, it's one of our greatest mysteries.
