I'll believe it when I see it. They have YET to develop a robot lawnmower that doesn't work on the old barrier-wire-drunkards-walk process.
I'm a little uneasy about carnivorous robots myself. For one thing, they would crap on your lawn. But a compromise might be a robot with conventional rechargable batteries that simply needed to be plugged in, or put a solar panel on it so that during the day, when it's not hunting slugs, it can sit in the yard and recharge.
"Slug digestion batteries." Cripes...must be some NASA guys working there.
