Does anyone know what the contamination is? I personally assume it must be outgassing from some spacecraft component- I have worked with UHV systems and vacuum outgassing of materials is always something to look out for... and heating is usually the solution. My question is how did vacuum incompatible materials get installed into a space probe?! Vacuum compatibility is simple to test on earth...
