FYI,

Sorry for the late input, but I strongly encourage people to send in
nomination forms Saturday for any candidates they feel have any potential as
steering committee members. Without member nominated candidates the
membership at large will have no real voice in the steering committee other
than through the chapter's council elected member. In addition, it would be
nice to see some member nominated candidates simply to encourage some vision
statements from the board's candidates. Remember these forms only place the
nominees on the ballot.

I strongly recommend supporting the nominations of Bruce and Gary based on
the numerous activities I personally know both have participated in. I
consider them to have supported the society far more than many of the
current steering committee members. I also recommend Mark Klosowski to a
lesser degree based on knowledge that he is a very active member, but not
any detailed knowledge of his projects. Hopefully we will get a detailed
candidate statement from him if he is nominated.

Manfred Hettmer's candidate statement also sounds very interesting to me,
but I have no personal basis for recommending him. Meghann might appeal to
youth. She reminds me of Chris Hirata at the first convention.
