According to the Star Wars book series, Princess Leia, a certified Jedi, married Han Solo and had at least three kids, all of them red-hot Jedi. The youngest was named Anakin, after his grandfather, and turned out a lot better. Eventually, Luke Skywalker (also a certified Jedi) married Mara Jade, a former Empire assassin (she had been disguised as a dancer in Jabba the Hut's court during one failed attempt on Luke).
So you see, the Jedi Rules eventually came around to a more reasonable viewpoint. Which shows the value of patience and persistence.
Of course, if you are the last living Jedis, you kind of get to change the rules anyway, but that sort of blows the moral.
The Future Mrs. Skywalker:
Hey, it's GOOD to be a Jedi! Luke, you old horndog!
Space/Science » in reply to I don't think I could ever be a Jedi
The rules must have changed eventually...(some Star Wars spoilers here)
