Just curious

Having read back through some of your other posts about this subject, I'm wondering why you're devoting so much of your finite life on Earth now to something that won't be achieved in your lifetime, but in the distant future, if at all. What's the point? Don't you think generations to come who might have the desire and resources to build a starship won't be able to do the math themselves?

Not wanting to piss in your beer or anything, but I find a lot of people in this world are driven to pursue utterly impractical, pointless and/or unachievable goals or waste time and energy researching, debating or defending pet projects, like proving that the Star of Bethlehem was a planetary conjunction or some other irrelevancy. It's really all just an academic exercise, isn't it?

How will your Starship Generations concept get humans in space commercially and profitably in the near term, so total economic output multiplies and new technologies are invented and improved until such a time a starship like yours is affordable and doable? Wouldn't it better to graduate in marketing and finance and then work for MirCorp or something in the mean time?
