Well, Nick, last night somebody suggested another place for the observations and he gave me his phone number, so it could be worthwile.
Today, I tried the new sun filter on the scope. It was ok with regular eyepieces (except that the Sun was so low it went into tree branches). I tried the webcam, found the Sun but discovered it was impossible to focus properly as with the laptop screen, in full daylight, it is very hard to see details (unless there are many sunspots...I saw some but not with the webcam).
