12 New Stars Found Nearby
<Space.com Article - 12 new stars
This is interesting to me since about a year ago I found the RECONS website which exists for the purpose of finding such missing stars. They provide a chart estimating the number of missing stars within 10 parsecs (32.6 lightyears). Apparently the new stars that have been found are just 12 out of an expected 132 undiscovered stars.
If you are interested the indicated curve has the equation:
N = 1.3358 * e ^ (0.1828 * R)
where R = radius of a sphere in lightyears with earth at the center
N = number of solar systems within range(R)
