Aurora Where I live?
Nix, Nada, nothing.
37 degrees south of the equator, and further from the geomagnetic pole than even that suggests. Never seen one here.
OTOH, I was in Scotland in 1984-89 and saw some wonderful ones. Never in colour, but lots of shimmering sky with bands, hoops, waterfalls, curtains etc..
But you do need good night vision. My wife couldn't see a fraction of what I could.
