Preliminary data but mission scientists said that the signal for the data is unambiguously strong. A # of different types of instruments measuring different wavelengths reveal a pervasive signal of hydrogen from most of Mars. What's quite interesting is that this signal comes only from the first few meters of soil depth, i.e. water may be easily accessable from most locations. Sort of a near subsurface permafrost (my interpretation). Very good news. This is gonna be a great mission for science AND for space cadets.
Another instrument gave the 1st guess at Mars surface radiation levels. Around 2x those at ISS but varying widely mostly due to surface altitude. More atmosphere yields more protection. Better data to follow.
