Space/Science » in reply to Oh what a Blue-tiful Mars-ning...Oh what a Blue-tiful day...

Water, water, everywhere,

Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship,
Upon a painted ocean.

Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.

[The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834)]

Arizona is a poor analogue. There it's merely dry. It does rain sometimes, and rivers flow most of the time.

Mars is so cold you couldn't drink anything that did fall from the sky
