The computer I am using is nestled snugly in a pair of sunglasses I am wearing. The "screen" is projected forward before me and through it I can see the beach. I woman has just jogged by and smiled. Anyway, as I lay here soaking the warm sunlight, my thoughts drift back to a time when computers were these physical devices that took up valuable space on a user's body, wrist, neck, arm, etc. I am now thinking of the slick surface of Europa and suddenly find myself there. The beach "scene" has terminated and the jogger is gone. After Europa, who knows, Io? The sun? Anywhere but home. Home is too violent, too dark. No one hardly lives there anymore. All my family and friends now live here, in this virtual space we call FreeSpace. We can go anywhere and be anyone at the speed of thought. So long as the computer in my sunglasses don't run low on batteries. Then I have to go into that cold, dark world we once call Earth and recharge. I could go solar power, but there hasn't been much sun out for in a long time. Gotta go, I think I see that jogger calling me to join her on the ice. Best regards. See ya.
