I noticed the report did not address the rather obvious question of how likely the synthesis process is would be in nature. As a chemical engineer I'm quite sure our technology is capabale of mimicking biological processes that do not occur in nature in the absence of life. Many Phamaceuticals are an obvious example. I get so tired of this type of "science reporting" on the ALH issue. Most of these reporters report each new research result as if it was an absolute answer with no critical review of the methods or the conclusions.
Do any of our NASA/professional Astronomy posters know enough details to answer my question?
It's not clear to me what the high temperature pulse mentioned has to do with the synthesis procedure. It seems to be more a counter claim than part of the synthesis procedure. If it was part of the synthesis procedure, how do the expect that to occure naturally?

Mark
