Yep. All these HTML "WYSIWYG" editors are a snake's nest of compromises and kludges.
Like the Winchester Mystery House, but only three of us would get it. There's a long-winded and really arcane reason, but I'll spare you, if you'll take my word for it: Browser-based WYSIWYG editors can never get any better. It'll never feel like a word processor.
