Onboard power
Power comes from an RTG that decays with time.
According to my (fallible) memory I recall an article in the past year or so that described how they have cut power to just about everything, and have given up on downloading any "data" anymore.
Nowadays, it is a major triumph to exchange a "hello" at that distance.
