Somehow go together naturally. Whether in 2D or 3D, the scale and perspective forced on one by space, requires the mega-wide screen of Imax. The luxury to focus on one part of a huge, all-encompassing scene, and follow your own personal viewpoint just does not exist in conventional cinema, yet in space every tiny fragment plays out its own full scene.
Viewing Earth from space leads you to a different perspective on the "flat" ground we walk on, and the obstacles we space.
If we shared this perspective, there wopuld be no more wars, nor question of why we're pushing towards space.
But clearly we do not. If we don't fix the human problem, perhaps space will become a luxury we can no longer afford.
Remember the Dark Ages before the Rennaissance? It could happen again.
