Last friday, a french friend made a dream come true: as a teacher, Claude proposed a radio contact with the ISS crew, using a Ham radio (brought to the school) from his astronomy club at Arles, France.
This would incite the children to learn english, sciences, technology, astronomy and space all together. Because it was all well prepared, the school children had 8 minutes to ask questions and get answers from Carl Walz.
Everything went perfectly well and he had the immense satisfaction to have made all his pupils fascinated by the theme. I hope to see the videos they made of the event, later this year.
Claude also had his pupils fabricate mirrors for the Starshine 2 project.
There, I think I beat him in seeing a flash soon after deploy.
Well, as you might know, Starshine 2 has re-entered Earth's atmosphere a few days ago.
This is something important as it motivates children into science instead of towards the extreme right grasp.
Quite a different story from this, isn't it?
