It is easier to intuit why a laser beam appears bent when riding inside an accelerating vehicle. But why does light bend around a massive object? Why is mass equivalent to an accelerating vehicle? Does mass really curve space, or does it only appear to bend space, and does it matter whether it actually or only apparently curves space?
This is the question I still grapple with today.
