Actually, its the HST guys who made the connection..:-)
Another hairy connection is Berenice's hair.
Berenice is also a Racine tragedy, I mean a theatre play by Racine.
Berenice (an egyptian princess) sacrificed part of her hair to Aphrodite in order to get her husband (Ptolmaeus) back from a Syria expedition.
But the hair got lost from the temple where it was kept and Conon of Samos, the astronomer declared it had gone to the heavens (where it is now..).
