I don't know how extensive the effort has been, or how much of the product has been turned over, but at the presentation I attended, the presenter specifically mentioned that MER landing sites were by far taking priority over other THEMIS targets.

True, but compared the MOC imagery in support of MER (as of now) is a much larger dataset. Indeed, the vast majority of the MGS Extended Mission MOC campaign has been used this way.

They also showed a context pic of one potential landing site (please forgive me for not remembering which one!) with 50 -100 swaths overlayed that represented the current THEMIS coverage of the area.

50-100 swaths of THEMIS VIS images of one site? Are you sure that MOC NA swaths were not included as well?

I would guess MOC will be the tool of choice owing to the greater resolution.
Alex writes:
It depends. If one is interested in meter-scale characteristics of a specific site, then yes, MOC NA is the choice. However, if regional context at decameter scales is desired, then of course THEMIS VIS is (currently) the choice. Needless to say, both cameras have their vital role to play in the process.
