You missed the point.
If the Aztecs, with their obsidian technology, had showed up in 15th/16th century Spain, they would have had their asses kicked and died in prison of smallpox.
The Aztecs were ruling with a blood thirsty ruthlessness that made Spain look like pansies. The subjugated tribes were very happy for the Spaniards to use their vast technological advantage to break the rule of Moctezuma.
But the point I made was that daring and risk taking and hard-nosed work in the cause of great dreams is something NASA is lacking.
